Ralph Lauren has undertaken a re-platforming effort in order to bolster its e-commerce capabilities and bring in house the commerce platform to allow for faster deployment of products as well as to develop products that are not supported by hosted or partnered solutions. In September of 2014 I joined the Digital division as a Director of User Experience and was tasked with being the Experience Lead for the Everest project. The bullets below highlight some of the work my team and the engagement that team has had under my leadership:

  • Co-led, along with a Creative Director, a team of 7 UX Designers, 9 Visual Designers, and 8 Front End Developers; in the ideation, design, and prototyping of the RalphLauren.com brand in the new platform
  • Created over 800 wireframes documenting all of the different states of the website
  • Created a pattern library, and a style guide, the first time that Ralph Lauren has had either of these built, with the goal of providing clear visual and interaction design guidelines to the teams once they join the project
  • Wrote a policy document as well as a checklist for Accessibility Design and adherence which has been adopted by the business
  • Co-wrote numerous point of views documents to allow the business to make decisions on:
    • UI rendering (responsive vs. adaptive)
    • Search Engine Optimization
    • Accessibility Design
    • Localization
    • URL strategy
